What is GTi
GTi stands for Guild Training and International and is the training arm of the Beauty Guild. GTi courses are written by leading industry experts and meet the relevant government specified National Occupational Standards (NOS). GTi courses are recognised in the U.K and internationally for its high standards. The GTi qualifications are accepted for insurance and membership.
Why are GTi courses so popular?
GTi courses are highly popular because you learn and are assessed on the theory element online, before completing your practical training at our Guild Accredited, The Beauty House and Training Centre. This flexible approach allows you to complete a proportion of your studies in your own time and fits in well with your busy lifestyle.
Once you complete the theory, most of the time spent in the salon will then focus on the hands-on practical learning. Schools also love GTi courses because GTi certificates are the most recognised training brand in the industry.
What other support does GTi give to students?
As a new GTi student you will be enrolled free of charge on the GTi Professional Standards for Therapists course which provides a basic understanding in:
What happens when you enrol on a GTi course?
When you enrol on a GTi course you will get immediate access to the online theory learning materials. You must then work your way through these modules and complete an online assessment at the end of each one. If the course is one that can be completed entirely online, you work your way through to the end of the course and your certificate will be issued electronically once you complete the last module. If your course requires a practical training session, you will need to arrange this with The Beauty House and Training Centre. Once you have completed the practical training session to the satisfaction of the tutor, the school will pass you on your course and your GTi certificate will be issued.
Do you include Starter Kits?
Advice will be given about the different brands and suppliers available. This enables you to purchase products of your choice once qualified. This way you are not tied into specific companies or products.
Our training courses teach the generic treatment techniques and processes. They are not brand specific.
*However, we do offer starter kits on selected courses, as a convenient way of getting started with practising quickly at home to complete required case studies.
What certificate do I get when I complete my GTi course?
On completion of your course your GTi certificate will be uploaded to your account on the beautyguild.com where you can download it free of charge. The name of the course, date of completion, and the GTi training school that provided your practical training will be shown on your certificate. You will also have the option to buy a printed certificate if required.
Will my GTi certificate be recognised for insurance?
Yes. The Beauty Guild and all major UK insurance providers accept GTi certificates for insurance. Schools love GTi courses because GTi certificates are amongst the most recognised training brands in the industry!
*Completing you GTi course gives you a recognised qualification which allows you to work in the industry. But before you can start working you must have adequate insurance in place. Insurance is a MUST, even if you only intend to work on family and friends.
